Patriot League Play Begins

  • Loyola University Maryland volleyball begins its 13th year of competition in the Patriot League on Friday, September 18, when it plays its first conference match of the year at Army West Point.
  • First serve against the Black Knights is scheduled for 7 p.m.
  • The Greyhounds then head to Hamilton, New York, for a Saturday afternoon game at Colgate University at 4 o'clock.
  • Both matches are set to be streamed live on ESPN+.

Looking Back

  • Loyola played a trio of matches last weekend against Washington D.C.'s three Georges. The Greyhounds pushed matches against George Washington and George Mason to four sets each, and Georgetown downed Loyola in three.

Top Five

  • Sophomore libero Addie Huber has taken up residence in the top five of two Patriot League statistical categories through the first eight matches of the year.
  • Huber is second in the conference in total aces (16) and aces per set (0.55).
  • Huber led Patriot League freshmen in digs and digs per set last season, racking up 407 total and 4.28 per set. Her digs per set mark was ninth-highest among NCAA Division I freshmen, and it was third overall in the conference regardless of class year.
  • Huber had 10 or more digs in 19 of the Greyhounds' 25 matches last season when she played every set as Loyola's starting libero.
  • She contributed 20 or more digs in nine of those matches with 25 or more in three.

Right Side Returns

  • First-year opposite Sydnee Peters has increased her hitting output with experience through the first three weeks of the season.
  • She opened the year with three kills in two matches at James Madison, and she added another three against Towson before putting away seven on 20 swings at Morgan State.
  • Peters came back last weekend with 21 kills across three matches, posting eight in a four-set affair against George Washington. She followed that with seven at Georgetown and then six versus George Mason.

Follow The Leaders

  • In the span of the first five matches of 2026, the Greyhounds saw three different players lead the team in kills.
  • Addie Lowe paced Loyola in each of the year's first three matches with team highs against James Madison twice and then versus Towson when she had 16 kills, one off her career-best., while hitting .424.
  • Ava Nepkin one-upped Lowe's 16 kills a day later with 17 kills in the win over Morgan State. Nepkin and Morgan Crawford then had 12 kills each in the three-set sweep of Saint Peter's.

Swinging Away

  • Three of Loyola's primary hitters return from last year in Crawford, Nepkin and Lowe. Respectively, the trio finished third, second and fifth on the team last year in total kills.
  • Nepkin made 20 starts and played in 24 matches, spreading 195 kills over 80 sets for an average of 2.44 per. Nepkin's offensive output and efficiency went up as the season went on. She led the team with 2.77 kills during Patriot League matches while hitting .122 during conference play to .104 overall.
  • Crawford is the Greyhounds' active career leader in kills with 477 in 75 matches over the last three years. She had 181 kills in 2025 while playing mostly on the right side, a career high that was one more than her 180 as a freshman in 2023.
  • Lowe came on during conference play with 85 of her 89 kills in the 14 League games she played. She had a season-high of 17 kills in the Greyhounds' five-set win over Navy on September 27.

New Faces

  • Four freshmen and a transfer joined the Greyhounds' roster this fall for the 2026 season, complimenting 10 returners.
  • Madison Monahan comes to Loyola as a junior after spending the last two seasons as a setter at William & Mary.
  • Elise Bocanegra, Regan Haverstock, Abby Kim and Sydnee Peters are all new to the program as first-year collegians.

Up Next

  • The Greyhounds will return to Reitz Arena next weekend for a pair of conference matches.
  • Loyola hosts Bucknell at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 25, and then face Lehigh the following day at 4 p.m.
