2022 (Graduate Student): Team co-captain… Returns for his fifth year after graduating from Loyola with a Bachelor of Arts in international business and global studies in May 2021… Currently pursuing his M.B.A… Enters the year ranked fifth at Loyola all-time in career assists (82) and 10th in points (168).
2021 (Senior): Earned All-Patriot League First Team honors after leading the Greyhounds in points (60) and assists (29)… Was third on the team with 31 goals scored… Named the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year... Also named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team and the conference’s Academic Honor Roll… Had a goal and two assists in each of the first two games of the year before scoring eight points on five goals and three assists versus Utah, earning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors following the contest… Had five assists in back-to-back games against Lafayette and Bucknell, scoring twice against the Leopards and then adding three goals versus Bucknell… Posted five goals in the Patriot League Quarterfinal against Navy and then had two goals and an assist versus Army West Point in the semifinal… Went off for five goals, tying his career-high, to go with an assist in the NCAA First Round at Denver… Dished out three assists against Duke in the NCAA Quarterfinal.
2020 (Junior): Was the Greyhounds' points leader during the shortened season with 22, scoring 11 goals to go with a team-leading 11 assists... Also had 11 ground balls and two caused turnovers... Had two goals and an assist in each of the Greyhounds' first two games, at Virginia and versus Johns Hopkins... Had a five-point game with three goals and two assists, earning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week recognition after the win against Rutgers... Posted another five-point game with a goal and four assists versus Towson... Tallied five points for the third-straight outing with two goals and three assists at Lafayette... Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2019 (Sophomore): Finished second on the team in assists (21) and fourth in both goals (25) and points (46) despite missing two full games and all but one possession of another due to injury early in the season… Averaged 4.14 points over the Greyhounds last seven games of the year… Taking out the Johns Hopkins game, in which he played just one extra-man possession, he had multi-point outings in 13 of 14 appearance, and he scored at least one point in each of those 14… Opened the year with two goals, two assists and four ground balls versus Virginia… Returned from injury with a goal and an assist at Towson… Posted a goal and two assists versus Navy… Starting with the Colgate game on March 30, had at least two goals in eight of Loyola’s last nine contests… Scored twice versus the Raiders and had three versus Lehigh… Finished the Georgetown game with seven points, scoring twice and posting a to-date career-high five assists… Logged three goals and three assists at Boston University, followed by two of each at Army West Point… Had two goals and two assists in the NCAA First Round against Syracuse and finished with two goals versus Penn State… Named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team and the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2018 (Freshman): Finished second on the team and tied for eighth in the Patriot League in assists (21)… Tied for sixth among NCAA Division I freshman in assists and was seventh in assists per game (1.24)… Was fourth on the team with 40 points… Together with Kevin Lindley, formed the only freshman duo on NCAA Division I to both post 35 or more points… Also had 27 ground balls… Made his collegiate debut with two assists and two ground balls at Virginia (2/10)… Scored his first collegiate goal versus Johns Hopkins (2/17)… Scored twice and had an assist against Towson (2/28)… Posted two assists at Holy Cross (3/4)… Named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after scoring four goals at Navy (3/17)… Had two goals and four assists a week later against Bucknell (3/24)… Scored twice and had two assists at Lehigh (4/7)… Named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after matching his season-highs with four goals and six points against Boston University (4/14) in the regular-season… Had two assists against Lehigh in the Patriot League Championship Game (4/29)… Assisted on three goals versus Virginia (5/12) in the NCAA Championship Game… Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Before Loyola: Graduated from Corning-Painted Post (N.Y.) High School where he was a multi-sport letterwinner in lacrosse (four), golf (three) and badminton (one)… Also was a travel hockey player for 10 years… Finished his high school career with 162 goals and 158 assists for 320 points… Named an Under Armour and USLacrosse All-American as a senior in 2017 after scoring 51 goals and assisting on 52… Earned All-State and New York Section IV All-Tournament Team honors… Led the Hawks to the 2016 New York Section IV Class A Championship, Regional Championship and State Semifinals… Earned Section IV Championship Most Valuable Player honors and was All-Section IV First Team, scoring 51 goals to go with 48 assists… Picked up All-Section IV Second Team recognition as a sophomore and freshman… Tallied 33 goals and 38 assists in 2015 after posting 27 goals and 20 assists the year prior… Helped Corning-Painted Post to the 2014 and 2015 Section IV titles and berths in the regional finals… Was captain of the school’s golf team in 2016 and finished third in Section IV in badminton doubles that year... Played club lacrosse for Sweetlax Upstate.
Personal: Aidan Maguire Olmstead… Son of Katie and John Olmstead… Has two younger siblings, Logan and Riley, who both play on the women's lacrosse team at Loyola… Graduated from Corning-Painted Post with highest honors and mastery in math and science, receiving an International Baccalaureate diploma… Member of the National Honor Society… Earned the WENY and First Heritage Credit Union Everyday Hero Award… Received the George Bacalles Memorial and Shelly McGannon Awards, as well as the Southern Tier Guidance Counselors Association Award… Distinguished USMC Student-Athlete… Father, John, played lacrosse at Notre Dame.
