Volleyball Falls To Niagara

Oct. 18, 2003

Box Score

NIAGARA FALLS, NY - Despite receiving a team-high 16 kills from Becky Corb and 12 from Christine Lopez, Loyola's volleyball team fell 3-1 to Niagara on Saturday afternoon in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contest.

Throughout the match, the Greyhounds failed to come up with points in key situations and let some leads go in tough spots, whereas the Puple Eagles capitalized on their opportunities.

Loyola dropped Game One 30-27, but came back to handle Niagara in Game Two, 30-24. However, the Greyhounds couldn't maintain the momentum and lost Games Three and Four, 30-24 and 30-22, respectively.

Corb and Lopez both played well for the Greyhounds, posting not only impressive kill totals, but also tallying hitting percentages of .458 and .310.

Loyola falls to 2-19 on the year and 1-1 in the conference.

Loyola returns to action tomorrow afternoon when it faces another MAAC opponent in Canisius at 12:00 p.m. as the Greyhounds continue their Buffalo, NY-area road trip.
