Men's Tennis Defeats George Mason, 4-3

BALTIMORE - Loyola's men's tennis team won the No. 2 and 3 doubles matches to grab the doubles point and then took three of six singles showdowns, as well, en route to defeating George Mason 4-3 Wednesday afternoon at the Greyhounds' Butler Courts.

John Laramie and Adam Wessinger teamed to defeat Stephen Dufils and Eric Vogel at No. 2 doubles, 8-6 as Jonathan Falcichio and John Curren beat Brendan O'Connor and Phu Le, 8-6 at No. 3 doubles to secure the doubles point for Loyola.

After the Greyhounds top-three singles players were defeated, Nos. 4 through 6 all came through with clutch wins to clinch the match for Loyola and lock up a 3-0 start to the new season.

No. 4 player Wessinger won 6-3, 6-3, No. 5 man Falcichio won 6-0, 6-2, and No. 6 Curren won 6-4, 6-4, ensuring one of the best starts in Loyola men's tennis history.
