Men's Tennis Hammers Delaware State, 6-1

BALTIMORE, MD - Loyola's men's tennis team swept the doubles point and won five of six singles matches in straight sets to defeat Delaware State by a score of 6-1 in a non-conference match on Sunday afternoon at the Butler Courts.

The Greyhounds' Dan Schiemel led the way with his 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles while he partnered with Nick Bowers to roll in their No. 1 doubles match to an 8-2 victory.

Loyola's Jon Falcichio and John Curren pulled off a shut-out in their No. 2 doubles match as they won 8-0 and Adam Wessinger and Bill Horne won by default at No. 3 doubles.

The Greyhounds kept the momentum going in to singles play as Schiemel took the No. 2 match, Falcichio won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, Wessinger was victorious 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles, Curren won easily at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-0, and Horne won by default at No. 6 singles.

With the win, Loyola improves to 7-5 on the year.
