Philadelphia, Pa. - The Loyola men's and women's crew teams opened the 2006-07 season at the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa. on Saturday. The Greyhounds, racing several boats, received solid results in the non-team scoring meet.

The men's Novice 8 posted the top result of the day with a victory in their race with Daniel Reardon in the bow. The women's Varsity 8 posted third while the lightweight men earned a fourth-place showing in the four-man boat.

Loyola's men's Varsity 4 also earned a Top-10 finish with a time of 16:55.10 while the women's Varsity 4 placed 11th in 18:30.30. The men's Varsity 8 finished 16th in their race.

The Greyhounds return to Philadelphia next Saturday for the Schuylkill Banks Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
