Results

Dover, Del. - Loyola's men's and women's tennis teams swept Delaware State on Friday afternoon in Dover, winning 6-1 on both sides. The men, with the win, improve to 5-5 overall, while the women are now 5-2 on the season.

On the men's side, Ben Epstein and Scott Gannon teamed up to take the No. 1 doubles' match, 8-4, while Chad Morrow and Sean Wall clinched the point with their 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Wall, playing his first career No. 1 singles match, fell 6-4, 6-0, but Gannon won at No. 2 and Epstein won at No. 3 as Morrow and Kraft took their respective singles matches (No. 4 and No. 5) to give Loyola the win.

In women's competition, the Greyhounds swept the doubles' competition to take a convincing lead heading into singles' play. Amy Nitch and Jessica Liberatore won the No. 1 match, 8-4 while Stefanie Clay and Mallory Tarca captured the No. 2 doubles' match, 8-0.

The singles' competition on the women's side was decided by eight-game pro sets and the Greyhounds took No. 2 through No. 6. Liberatore won at No.2, Meagan McKenna took the No. 3 singles point while Tarca and Courtney Vanslooten won at No. 5 and No. 6.

Both the men and women now head to Staten Island for Saturday's afternoon matches with Wagner.
