Men's Tennis Collects 5-2 Win Over LaSalle

Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's tennis team won its fifth straight non-conference match on Tuesday, defeating LaSalle at the Butler Courts by a score of 5-2. The Greyhounds won the doubles points and claimed four straight-set victories in singles action to win for the sixth time in their last eight outings.

Junior co-captains Ben Epstein and Scott Gannon earned an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles while junior Chad Morrow and freshman Matt McDaniel teamed up for an identical 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles to give Loyola a 1-0 edge going into singles' play.

Gannon then earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles while McDaniel won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 to put the Greyhounds in position for the win. Freshman Tim Koch clinched the victory with his 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5, while freshman Peter Edgar won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.

Loyola is now 8-5 overall and takes a two-match win streak into Thursday's home match with Delaware State. That match is slated for a 3 p.m. start from the Butler Courts.
