Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's and women's swimming and diving teams host MAAC opponents Fairfield and Iona this Saturday at the Mangione Aquatic Center. The meet is slated for a 10 a.m. start, and will be the final regular-season competition for the Greyhounds as they prepare for the conference championships in mid-February.

The Greyhounds enter the weekend with an accomplished season already under their belts. The men's team, which defeated Towson for the first time in 10 years last weekend, also posted its first-ever victory over Marist back on December 1. Freshman Matthew Fralinger, who was named MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week after his two wins over Towson, has twice been named Swimmer of the Week this season.

The same goes for Loyola freshman Caitlin Cassidy, who has twice been named MAAC Women's Swimmer of the Week. Cassidy now holds the women's 100 Fly school record and has top-five times in the 100 Back, 50 Free, 100 Free and 200 Free events this season.

Other Loyola records that have already fallen this year are the women's 200 Free, where junior Tori Kamauff swam a 1:56.70 earlier this month, and the men's 100 Back (Sam McQuaid) and 200 Back (Jake Swiggett). On top of that , the women have set school relay records in the 200 Medley, 400 Medley and 200 Freestyle.

Saturday's meet begins with the 400 Medley Relay at 10 a.m. The meet is the final home meet for seven Loyola seniors - who will honored on Senior Day.

The Greyhounds will also host the 2008 MAAC Championships that take place February 14-16 at the Mangione Aquatic Center.
