Final Stats
Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's and women's swimming and diving teams are off to a great start in the first session of the H2Ounds Invitational at the Mangione Aquatic Center. The Greyhounds, along with MAAC rival Marist, Delaware and the Villanova men are all close after 10 events on Friday night.
The Loyola men took off with an early lead after placing first in the 400 Medley Relay, led by sophomores Sam McQuaid, Matthew Fralinger and Ozzy Torres along with junior Brad Reeser. This year the men clocked in at 3:24.41, which is about five seconds quicker than last years time in the same event.
Sophomore Jacob Drannan had much success throughout the evening. He took a first place finish in the 500 Free with a time of 4:37.84, then won the 200 IM in 1:54.52.
The Greyhound women competed in five events Friday evening. Freshman Courtney Trivino clocked in a time of 2:10.57 in the women's 200 IM to take first place, and freshman teammate Lauren Mari came in second in the women's 50 Free.
So far in the event, both teams from Loyola and Marist are very close in team standings. The Greyhound men the lead all teams, and only have Marist by 26 points. The women's team is only 20 points behind the Red Foxes of Marist.
The Greyhounds will resume action on Saturday morning starting at 10 a.m.
