Baltimore, Md. - Loyola senior Doug Alban has been named the MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week after his performance against conference foes Fairfield and Iona last weekend. Alban won two events in his final regular season meet at Loyola to earn his first swimmer of the week award.
Swimming on Senior Day at the Mangione Aquatic Center, Alban captured the 100 backstroke in 55.92, and the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:00.55 to help the Greyhounds defeat both the Stags and Gaels.
Alban is the third Loyola swimmer and fifth Loyola honoree to earn MAAC honors this season. Teammates Matthew Fralinger and Caitlin Cassidy have each garnered swimmer of the week honors twice this season.
