Men's Varsity 4 Wins Race At Jesuit Invitational

Pennsauken, N.J. - Loyola University Maryland's men's varsity 4 captured its race and the women's freshmen 8 took second to highlight the results from Saturday's Jesuit Invitational Regatta contested at Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.

The Greyhounds defeated boats from Georgetown, Boston College and Saint Joseph's in the men's varsity 4, finishing with a time of 6:59.0 to beat the Eagles' team by almost seven seconds (7:06.8). Loyola's boat was coxed by junior Thomas Quinn and sophomore Jordan Mastera, junior Ryan Walsh and senior Josh Tarini served as strokes with junior Chris Golon acting as the bow.

The women's varsity 8 featured a pair of newcomers as freshman Andrea Hartman and sophomore Erin Mulhern joined the group as new strokes of the young team.

Loyola's freshman 8 boat placed second to Saint Joseph's and was stroked by Hartman and Sarah La Barth.

The Greyhounds are back in action Saturday with competition at the Murphy Cup in Philadelphia.
