CAMDEN, N.J. - The Loyola University Maryland women's lightweight four crew held off a strong effort by the University of Pittsburgh to win the event's grand final at the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River.

The Greyhounds boat - Kimberly Winiarczyk, Catriona Miller, Alexandra Dagenais, Julianne Roccuzzo and coxswain Lauren Walsh - glided to a time of 8:11.11, defeating the Pitt entry by 00:04.38.

Loyola's entry in the women's novice four - Andrea Hartman, Sarah La Barth, Kathleen Sweeney, Kimberly Chambers and coxswain Megan Monroe - held the lead through the 500-meter mark in their race, but crews from West Virginia and Massachusetts managed to overtake the Greyhounds by the finish line.

In the Greyhounds' final race of the day, the men's varsity four bounced back from a narrow defeat on Saturday afternoon, to hold off a strong finish-line challenge to win the petite final.

Coxswain Thomas Quinn, Jordan Mastera, Ryan Walsh, Joshua Tarini and Christopher Golon led throughout the race and edged Philadelphia University by 00:00.16 with a winning time of 7:02.32.

The Greyhounds are back in action next weekend in West Windsor, N.J., when they hit the water for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships.
