Five Greyhounds Finish Competition At Larry Ellis Invite

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Loyola University Maryland track & field team sent five athletes to the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University on Friday night.

The five Greyhounds joined more than 2,000 athletes from more than 200 different colleges and universities throughout the country.

Junior Jackie D'Antonio and sophomore Gabrielle Cocco each ran the 1,500. D'Antonio placed 49th, running a 4:39.71 in her first time in the event. Cocco took 58th with a time of 4:42.24.

In the 5,000, senior Stephanie Gibney finished 78th in a time of 18:05.89. Jessica Peters took 92nd in18:45.71 in her first time competing in the event.

On the men's side, Greyhound junior DJ Puleo notched a time of 3:55.29 to finish 71st in the 1,500.

The Greyhounds are back in action next weekend at both the Penn Relay and Lion's Invitational.
