NEW YORK - The Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team finished up the first day of events at the Armory Collegiate Invitational, highlighted by the sprints and distance medley relay on Friday afternoon.

"I'm really proud that all our pieces are coming together," Head Coach Amy Horst said. "Things are going in the right direction for us and we're excited for the races tomorrow."

Freshman Crystal Godette set a personal record in the 200m, crossing the finish line in 26.31.

Sophomore Eileen Pastyrnak and freshman Isabela Ugarte both ran the 60m sprints, finishing 8.33 and 8.70, respectively. Claire Scavone was the final individual competitor of the day, running the 400m in 1:01.31.

The night finished off with the DMR, as Sarah Askine, Jeanine Gill, Charlotte Criqui and Kiera Harrison finished in 12:16.37.

"I'm quite proud of the DMR tonight," Horst said. "It's a brand new group competing together and the women were spectacular at handling it."

The Greyhounds return to the Armory tomorrow, February 8, to finish up the meet events.
