FAIRFAX, Va. –
Lauryn Clarke won her heat and had the second-fastest qualifying time in the 100 meters on Saturday, leading the Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team at the ECAC Championships at George Mason University.
Clarke ran 11.78 seconds, the second-fastest time in school history that is only one-hundredth of a second behind her school record, in her heat.
She won her heat by 37-hundredths of a second and qualified for Sunday's final six-hundredths of a second behind Quinnipiac's Nyasia Dailey.
Two other Greyhounds ran in qualifying for the 100.
Maddie Van Haren ran a season-best time of 12.35 seconds, improving her status as the No. 5 performer in school history.
Jane Mazzeo ran 12.51 seconds, and the pair were 25
th and 28
th, respectively, in the event.
Nelly Cruz clocked 15.03 seconds, the No. 9 time in school history, in the 100-meter hurdles qualifying for 15
th place.

Meghan Leonard were 29
th and 35
th, respectively, in the 800 meters, running 2:19.66 and 2:21.60.
Kiera Udell took 25
th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:55.06.
