ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Maeve Lowther set a school 3,000-meter steeplechase record, Caroline Blakeslee matched her fourth-place finish for the best by a Loyola University Maryland woman at the 2026 Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and the Greyhounds' 4x100-meter relay team became the first in school history to reach the podium in the event, highlighting the last day of the competition for Loyola.
 
As a team, the Greyhounds finished seventh, matching their best finish at the Patriot League Championships since joining the conference in 2014.
 
The relay team took second in the event on Saturday, just seven-hundredths of a second behind first-place Navy. Lauryn Clarke, Maddie Van Haren, Gabby Snowden and Blakeslee took the baton around in 46.31 seconds, the second fastest time in school history.
 
Loyola's finish in the event marked the first time the Greyhounds have reached the podium in the 4x100.
 
That race came moments after Lowther set a school record in the steeplechase, finishing fourth in the event in 10:42.71 to break the 15-year old record of 10:45.85 set on May 13, 2011, by Victoria Szczawinski.
 
Lowther was not the only Loyola runner to finish in the top four on Saturday. Blakeslee ran a personal-best time of 24.12 seconds in the 200 meters to take fourth in the event with a performance that is second-fastest in school history.
 
Blakeslee, Olivia Dever, Van Haren and Clarke closed the meet with a season-best time in the 4x400-meter relay, 3:48.57, to finish seventh.
 
Kayla Hayes and Mackenzie Newman both ran personal-best times of 18:17.08 and 19:16.69, respectively, in the 5,000 meters, finishing 33rd and 39th.
