WORCESTER, Mass. – Loyola University Maryland's
Lauryn Clarke had the best finishes by a Greyhounds' sprinter at the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships in program history on Saturday, taking third in both the 100 and 200 meters.
Clarke took third in the 100 meters with the third-fastest time in school history. She ran 11.80 seconds just back of Navy's Jia Anderson (11.76) and Lafayette's Ida Moczerniuk (11.79).
She later ran a wind-aided 24.12 seconds in the 200 meters to finish behind Bucknell's Alex Lea (23.58) and Boston University's Ijeoma Ezechukwu (23.84).
Loyola's 4x100-meter relay team –
Madelyn Ricard,
Jane Mazzeo,
Lauryn Clarke and
Maddie Van Haren – ran the No. 2 time in school history and took seventh in the event, clocking 47.03 seconds, just nine-tenths of a second back of sixth-place Army West Point.
Maeve Lowther scored at the Championships for the second time in her career in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, matching her eighth-place finish in 2002, by running the sixth-fastest time in school history in 11:02.94.
The Greyhounds' 4x400-meter relay team of
Kayla Hayes, Lowther, Julia Baguaio and
Kiera Udell finished eighth in 3:55.61.
Udell was 28
th in the 5,000 meters, running 18:19.83.
Kasey Boag was 34
th in the race in 18:49.69, and Hayes took 35
th in 18:53.13.
As a team, the Greyhounds' finished ninth with 18 points.
