NEWARK, Del. - The Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team finished the regular season with the best team finish of the year, taking second at the Delaware Classic.

Four Greyhounds finished first in their respective events, while the 4x800m relay squad grabbed all ten-race points, helping the team to 151 total points during Saturday's meet. Host Delaware took first, tallying 343.5 team points.

Freshman Jessa Laspesa took the title in the 400m dash, outracing teams from Delaware and Maryland - Eastern Shore. The rookie sprinter crossed the finish line 1:00.42. Claire Scavone and Crystal Godette also ran the race, taking fourth and sixth, respectively.

Fellow freshman Sarah Askine also took first in her race, running the 1,500m in 5:06.41. The Monrovia, Md., native grabbed her first collegiate victory, after finishing among the top-10 twice during the outdoor season.

For the second time in her career and first time this season, junior Anna Bosse clinched first in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:48.74.

Charlotte Criqui, Lisa Potter, Sarah Askine and Caitlyn McGuinness took first in the 4x800m relay, finishing with a time of 10:02.91.

Off the track, Kelly Hilbert and Emma Mascoli finished first and second, respectively, in the triple jump with marks of 9.69m and 9.56m.

The Greyhounds end the regular season on a high note, traveling to Annapolis on Friday, May 2 for the team's first ever appearance in the Patriot League Outdoor Championships hosted by the United States Naval Academy.
