Rowing Concludes Final Day At Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA - The Loyola University Maryland men's rowing team had two boats qualify for the semifinal round at the Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday, as the pair and lightweight four each competed in their respective races.

The men's pair faced crews from Milwaukee, Georgia Tech, Philadelphia, Clarkson and Jacksonville. The duo of Michael Blume and James McCarron finished just behind Milwaukee taking sixth with a time of 8:00.57.

Walter Horan, Robert Moore, Theodore Fortier, Craig MacAdams and coxswain Emily Arcese finished two spots off advancement, taking fourth in the first heat of the men's lightweight four. The Greyhounds recorded a semifinal-race time of 7:06.77, only two seconds behind the third-place crew from Villanova.

Loyola returns to the water next week to compete in the squad's first-ever Patriot League Championships in Worcester, Mass.
