Strong Showing For Crews At Kerr Cup

PHILADELPHIA - Two second-place finishes guided the Loyola University Maryland rowing team to a strong showing at the Kerr Cup on the Schuylkill River Saturday afternoon.

The men's novice four crew (Victor Santiago, Joseph Yacobucci, David Dukenik, Ryan Brown and coxswain Rachel Yuhas) started the morning's events with a second-place finish in the first heat, continuing on to the final race and taking second ahead of boats from Villanova, Temple and Fordham. The Greyhounds crossed the finish line in 7:07.08.

Later in the day, Craig Spicer and Robert Moore also took second in the men's varsity pair final, coming in with a time of 7:23.05.

On the women's side, the women's varsity pair boat of Melissa Cortes and Megan Rabenberg finished fifth in 9:18.23.

The Greyhounds return to action on Friday and Saturday, May 8th and 9th back at the Schuylkill River for the Dad Vail Championships.
