BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland freshman
Max Greer set a world age-group record on a rowing machine last weekend, completing the distance of a half-marathon (21,097 meters) faster than any 17-18-year-old in recorded history.
Greer set the standard of 1:22.543 on a Concept2 Indoor Rower with Slides, the best-ever recorded time for a lightweight athlete of his age group.
"Max worked hard throughout the summer and has carried that momentum into the fall," said Loyola Head Coach
Megan Patrick. "His determination and perseverance are great assets not only to the freshman class, but to the team as a whole. His accomplishment is indicative of the developing culture of excellence at Loyola Rowing."
Greer joined the Loyola rowing program this fall after coming to the school from Nashville, Tennessee. There, he was a member of the Nashville Juniors program and was named the crew's 2017 Most Improved Rower.
