May 29, 2018 BALTIMORE - A pair of Loyola University Maryland golfers - Brendan Peel and Ethan Wall - have been named to the Division I PING All-North Region Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
With two honorees, Loyola is one of just six schools in the North Region with multiple selections to the team, as Boston College, Connecticut, Maryland, Penn State and Yale also had more than one golfer make the team.
Peel ranked second on the team with a 73.19 stroke average this year, a total that ranks sixth in Loyola's single-season scoring average records. He played in all 32 rounds of Loyola's 11 tournaments this year and finished the year with 11 rounds at par-or-better and two in the 60s. He was named the Patriot League Golfer of the Month for March after finishing tied for second at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, shooting a 211 (71-70-70) at the tournament. His five career eagles ranks third in program history.
Wall, the Patriot League Golfer of the Month for September, played in all 11 tournaments and through all 32 rounds for the Greyhounds this season. A native of Brielle, New Jersey, Wall earned All-Patriot League First Team accolades after logging a runner-up finish at the conference championships with a 4-over 220 (74-74-72). He led the team with a 73.03 stroke average and shot 13 rounds at par-or-better, including carding a season-best 66 twice.
