BALTIMORE – First-year Head Coach Tavaras Hardy and the Loyola University Maryland men's basketball team will play 13 non-conference games, including four as part of the 2018 Legends Classic, the Greyhounds announced on Monday.

Loyola will open the 2018-19 season, Hardy's first since being named head coach in March, on November 6 when it visits St. John's in New York City. The Red Storm and Greyhounds will meet in the first game of the Legends Classic.

Following the game in Queens, Loyola returns to Reitz Arena for a pair of games, starting with its home opener against Dartmouth on November 11. The Greyhounds then host Delaware State two days later.

The next three games will be part of the Legends Classic, as well, starting with a November 16 trip to take on Temple; the game will be the first between the Greyhounds and Owls since February 1930.

Loyola then heads to the Motor City for two games in the Legends Classic, facing host Detroit Mercy on November 19 before taking on either Bowling Green or Hampton the next day.

The Greyhounds will stay in the Baltimore area for Thanksgiving weekend and make the short trip to play at Towson on November 25.

That contest precedes Loyola's final home non-conference game of the regular-season. Mount St. Mary's visits Reitz Arena on December 1 for the 174th meeting between the Catholic foes. The game will be part of an Alumni Day doubleheader as the Loyola women also host the Mountaineers while bringing back former players and fans.

Loyola hits the road for the remainder of non-conference play, starting with a December 5 game at Drexel and then a December 8 date at Binghamton.

The Greyhounds trek down Interstate 95 to College Park to face Maryland on December 11. That contest will be the first between the programs since the Terrapins hosted the Greyhounds on February 2, 2003.

After pausing for fall-semester final exams, Loyola will travel to New England to face UMass-Lowell on December 21, and following the Christmas holiday, the Greyhounds head south for a December 28 game at North Carolina State.

Patriot League action is slated to start in the first day days of the new year; the conference schedule will be released at a later date.
