Abigail Thornton and
Lin Robertson won super-tiebreakers in the third set to push the women's tennis team to a 4-3 victory over St. Bonaventure University on Friday night at the Coppermine Racquet and Fitness Club.

Thornton rallied from a 6-2 setback in the opening set against Kahlei Reisinger to beat the Bonnies' No. 2 player, 6-1 in the second and 10-8 in the third. Robertson then used a 10-6 win in the third to beat Buse Gunay in the fourth flight, 7-5, 5-7, (10-6).

Sandra Aguirre also picked up a crucial point at No. 5 singles, beating Paula Velilla, 6-3, 6-4.

St. Bonaventure had wins at number one, three and six singles. Penelope Abreu beat
Kateri Martin, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1, and Andrea Roque was a 6-4, 7-5 winner over
Abby Decker at No. 3. Emily Stanley beat
Alexandria Agee, 6-4, 7-5, at No. 6.

The Greyhounds, opened up a 1-0 lead in the match with a 2-1 advantage in doubles play. Abreu and Roque beat Martin and Thornton, 6-2, at No. 1, but Decker and
Sandra Aguirre, 6-4, at No. 3. Robertson and Agee then slipped past Reisinger and Stanley, 7-6 (1) at No. 2.

On the men's side,
Skyler Gates took a 6-3, 6-1 decision over Ante Zuvko at No. 2 singles, but the Bonnies earned a 6-1 victory.

Gates and
Matt Fitzmaurice were 6-2 winners against Zuvko and Lukas Linden Malmbert at No. 1 doubles, but St. Bonaventure won the point with wins in the other two matches. Martin Estevarena and John Rutkowski beat
Benny Glezer and
C.J. Cash, 6-2, at No. 2, and Marco Rivolo and Logan D'Angelo topped
Brian Hoffarth and
Kyle Gower, 6-4, at No. 3.

Malmbert was a 6-4, 7-6 (1) winner against Hoffarth at No. 1 singles, while Estevarena beat Glezer, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 3. Rutkowski defeated Gower, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 4, and Rivolo edged Fitzmaurice, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 5. D'Angelo then beat Cash, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 6.
