EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. – Loyola University Maryland played Maidstone Club's back nine at even-par on Tuesday in the final round of the Hamptons Intercollegiate to vault into a second-place finish at the first-year event the Greyhounds hosted on Long Island.

Brandon Berry, who was Loyola's top finisher in sixth place, was the last Greyhounds player on the course, and his birdie on the 17
th moved Loyola past the Richmond and into second place.

Oregon State, which was ranked 28th nationally by
Golfweek entering the week, won the wind-plagued event with a three-round score of 26-over par, while the Greyhounds were one shot better than the Spiders at 58-over. Seton Hall finished fourth, followed by Yale, Princeton, Cornell, Penn and Brown.

The Beavers had the top-three finishers at the tournament. Shawn Lu won with a score of 4-over, while Spencer Tibbits and Carson Barry tied for second at 5-over.

Berry birdied three holes on the back nine after opening with bogies on the 10
th and 11
th. He had a birdie on the 13
th and 14
th holes to get back to even for the backstretch, and his final birdie moved him to a final-round total of 2-over.

Evan Brown shot the Greyhounds best round on Tuesday, posting a 1-over 73 on a day when the course and conditions played to an average score of 77.98 for the 54 golfers at the tournament. Brown had back-to-back double-bogeys early on his back nine, but he flourished with four birdies on his final six holes to get back to 1-over and finish in a tie for 20
th overall.

Carlo Pizzano shot 6-over on Tuesday, but his birdie on the 18
th moved him into a tie for 15
th at the tournament, and
Turner Foster posted pars on the last four holes and tied with Brown for 20
th.

Nick Mejia scored an eagle on the par-5 13
th hole Tuesday and was the Greyhounds No. 5 scorer with a tie for 32
nd.

Preston Ball checked in tied for 17
th as an individual, while
Trent Geritz wrapped up his first collegiate tournament by racking up eight pars and a birdie on the back nine to finish tied for 22
nd.
Steven Weingroff finished 53
rd overall.
