PRINCETON, N.J. - Loyola University Maryland sophomore
Evan Brown earned this third top-three finish in the last four outings, placing tied for third at the Princeton Invitational to lead the Greyhounds' golf team to a fifth-place finish Sunday afternoon.

Brown, who won the Loyola Intercollegiate in February and finished third at the Golden Horse Intercollegiate in March, signed for a 1-under 70 today to finish the three rounds tied with Princeton's Jake Mayer and Penn's Mitchell Cornell at 8-under 205.

Yale's Paul Stankey took medalist honors with an 11-under 202, while teammate Teddy Zinsner earned runner-up honors at 9-under 204, outdistancing the three-way tie for third by one stroke.

Brandon Berry also finished under par, coming in 15th with a 1-under 212 (69-72-71)

Loyola's other three Greyhounds all turned in 1-over 72s today, with senior
Erick Alonso tying for 18th at 1-over 214 (73-69-72), sophomore
Nick Mejia tying for 46th at 7-over 220 (74-74-72) and junior
Preston Ball tying for 52nd at 8-over 221 (74-75-72).

Individually, freshman Matthew Malits placed 67th with a three-round score of 13-over 226 after shooting a 7-over 78 today.

With the top two finishers, Yale took the top spot on the team leaderboard with an aggregate score of 23-under 829. Penn was second at 9-under 843, while Temple (847, -5), Seton Hall (847, -5) and Loyola (851, -1) followed. Georgetown finished sixth with a 2-over 854.

Loyola will return to action on with one final regular-season tournament before turning its attention to the Patriot League Championships. The Greyhounds will travel to State College, Pennsylvania, for the Rutherford Intercollegiate on Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, before heading to Hamilton, New York, for the conference tournament Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28.
