Santi Aldama and
Golden Dike, incoming Loyola University Maryland freshmen, led Spain to group-round opening round victory over the Netherlands at the FIBA U-18 European Championships on Saturday.
Dike logged a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while Aldama scored 15 points to go with five rebounds and two steals as the Spaniards topped the Dutch, 98-65.
The pair of Greyhounds combined to shoot 50-percent from the field, as Aldama was 6-of-12, and Dike 5-of-10. Aldama knocked down a pair of 3-pointers.
The Spaniards are on top of Group D after one round and will play Finland on Sunday, July 28, before taking on the Croatian team Monday.
