HOPEWELL, N.J. – Loyola University Maryland senior guard Stephanie Karcz was one of 15 players across Division I women's basketball selected to the Her Hoop Stats Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List on Monday morning.

To be eligible for the award, players must compete in one of the 25 conferences deemed to be "mid-major". Ineligible conferences include the AAC, AAC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC. Players are selected based on their on-court production for the 2019-20 season.

Karcz continues to lead the nation with 6.3 steals per game, ranking more than a full steal above the next-closest competitor. One of two Greyhounds to start all 13 games, she also leads the team in points (11.7), rebounds (9.2) and assists (4.2) per game.

Among Patriot League players, Karcz ranks first in steals, third in rebounding and fourth in assists. She became the first Patriot League competitor to record a triple-double this season last Tuesday, when she totaled 13 points, 10 steals, 10 rebounds and seven assists in a 72-56 home win over Dartmouth.

Karcz is one of three Patriot League players named to the national watch list, with Lafayette's Natalie Kucowski and Colgate's Rachel Thompson also recognized. Ten semifinalists for the end-of-year honor will be announced on Monday, Feb. 3, with the winner ultimately revealed on Wednesday, April 1.
