CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – After his second-straight top-two finish in tournament play, Loyola University Maryland's
Evan Brown was named the Patriot League Men's Golfer of the Week for the second time in as many weeks.
The junior from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, took second with a three-round total of 11-under 205 at this week's Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate for his fifth top-10 finish of the 2019-2020 season.
Brown opened the week with a first-round 6-under 66 as the course was playing to more than 3-over par in Monday's morning round. He followed that by shooting 3-under 69 in Monday's afternoon 18, and he closed with a 2-under round of 70 on Tuesday.
Overall, his 11-under was more than 13 strokes better than the tournament average of 73.88 at the par-72 Fort Lauderdale Country Club North Course.
After this week's finish and his tie for second at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Arizona, last week, Brown has three top-five finishes this year. He is ranked in the top-150 players nationally by GolfStat.com and is the only Patriot League player ranked in the publication's top-250.
Brown and Loyola will take a three-week break before their next tournament. They will head to Williamsburg, Virginia, for the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate from March 22-24.
