BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland women's basketball announced on Thursday that Devyne Newman will join the program as a transfer addition for the 2020-21 academic year.
Newman spent her first two collegiate seasons at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, where she was honored as the team's Best Defensive Player Award recipient as a sophomore. She was previously a four-year letterwinner at Herndon High School in Virginia.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Devyne and her family into our women's basketball program and One Hound family," head coach
Joe Logan said. "We love having another player join us from the DMV area. We expect her to be an outstanding Greyhound in the classroom, on the court and in the community."
Newman becomes the fifth addition to Loyola's roster for the upcoming season, as she joins incoming freshmen Charia Roberts, Kayla Sieper, Bella Steidle and Caramina Tanedo.
