NORMAN, Okla. – The Loyola men's golf team earned the Golf Coaches Association of America Outstanding Team Academic Award on Thursday for its excellence in the classroom during the 2019-2020 academic year.
As a team, the Greyhounds had a combined 3.47 grade-point average during the fall and spring semesters, raising their cumulative GPA to a 3.418.
Nine members of the program were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll last month, led by
Steven Weingroff and
Matt Malits who both turned in 4.0 GPAs during the spring term.
Sasha Sparacino was a third member of the team who had a 4.0 during the year, posting his during the fall.
