WBCA Release
ATLANTA – Loyola University Maryland's women's basketball program continued an impressive run of academic success at the national level this week, as the Greyhounds earned a spot on the WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll for a fifth-consecutive season.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and two-year GPA's inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. Loyola was ranked tied for 15th overall among DI programs with a team GPA of 3.665 during the 2019-20 academic year.
The Greyhounds are one of just three programs in Division I to crack the top 15 in each of the last five years, ranking as high as No. 5 following the 2017-18 season. The entire roster contributed to this year's ranking, with every student-athlete finishing 2019-20 with a grade-point average over 3.0.
Seniors
Stephanie Karcz and
Hannah Niles both recorded 4.0 GPA's in each of their final two semesters. Junior
Delaney Connolly added a 4.0 GPA last fall, while junior
Isabella Therien posted a 4.0 during the spring semester.
Loyola was one of four Patriot League schools recognized on the national list, with the Greyhounds joined by Lehigh (t-15), Bucknell (t-18) and Lafayette (t-18).
