The Eagles (2-3 PL, 2-1 South) outscored the Greyhounds (0-3, 0-1) by a 32-10 margin over the final 13:38 of regulation, as Loyola faded late in its first contest since January 3.

Devyne Newman and a
Bri Rozzi jumper cut that margin in half heading into the intermission. The Greyhounds maintained their momentum after the break, as a long ball by
Emily McAteer put the hosts up 35-32 with 4:36 left in the third quarter.
The Eagles, though, closed that frame on a 12-2 run, and they outscored Loyola 20-8 over the final 10 minutes. Jade Edwards, who entered leading the Patriot League in scoring at 22.0 points per game, scored nine of her 13 points in the fourth quarter for the visitors.
Emily McAteer joined Dixon in double figures with 10 points for the Greyhounds, as she hit two of her four attempts from 3-point range. Therien, who was limited to a pair of reserve appearances last season due to injury, added a pair of steals in 21 minutes of game action.
Loyola shot 50 percent (5-10) from the field in the first quarter, but ultimately dropped down to 31.4 percent (16-51) by the end of the contest. American shot 47.9 percent (23-48) overall and had a 35-28 edge on the glass.

The two sides will meet up again in Washington, D.C., tomorrow, with opening tip at Bender Arena scheduled for 4 p.m.
