BALTIMORE – For the second day in a row, the Loyola University Maryland women's tennis team registered a sweep as it beat La Salle University, 7-0, on Sunday at the McClure Tennis Center.
Kateri Martin and
Abigail Thornton dispatched Isa Leano and Lauren Landstrom, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles, while
Brooke Santoriello and
Taylor Kuncl were 6-2 winners at No. 2 against Jazmin Walle and Aleks Nikolic.
Sandra Aguirre and
Julia Thompson were unopposed at No. 3, and the Greyhounds won the doubles point.
Martin then beat Leano, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles to kick off the individual lineup. Thornton was a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Landstrom at No. 2, and Aguirre beat Walle, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.
Thompson dropped Nikolic, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4, while Kuncl and Santoriello were unopposed at No. 5 and 6, respectively.
Loyola is slated to be back in action on Tuesday, March 23, when it takes on nearby Towson University.
