GREENVILLE, N.C. – Loyola University Maryland senior
Evan Brown is two shots up on the field after the first 36 holes of the ECU Intercollegiate, leading the Greyhounds into fourth place through the opening two rounds.
Brown shot a 6-under 66 in the Monday's second round, posting seven birdies against just one bogey on the 6,755-yard, par-72 Brook Valley Country Club.
He moved up four spots after shooting 1-under 71 in the first round to overtake the University of Maryland's Dhaivat Pandya for the top spot. Coastal Carolina's Zack Taylor is also tied for second with Pandya.
As a team, the Greyhounds shot 3-over 291 in the second round after posting 7-over in the opening 18 to finish the day 10-over and alone in fourth place. Coastal Carolina leads the tournament at 2-under, while Appalachian State University is 4-over and Maryland is 6-over.
Brandon Berry is also in the top five for the Greyhounds, tying for fifth after 36 holes at 1-under. He shot 72-71 in the two rounds, parring all nine of the back side during the second round.
Carlo Pizzano made his season debut at the tournament and is tied for 48
th at 10-over, while
Matt Malits is tied for 51
st at 11-over.
Nick Mejia is tied for 60
th at 14-over, and
Brett Inserra is tied for 57
th as an individual at 13-over.
