Heinemann Named To Academic All-Patriot League Team For Indoor Track & Field

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland junior Grayce Heinemann was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team for indoor track and field on Tuesday, an honor that celebrates her academic and athletic accomplishments.

An electrical engineering major with a mathematics minor, Heinemann holds a 3.913 grade-point average through the fall semester. She is a six-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member and has been a member of Loyola's Dean's List every semester she has been at the school.

This season, during the abbreviated indoor season, she finished third in the 800 meters at the Patriot League Challenge against American University and the U.S. Naval Academy, one of two races she ran during the indoor season. She also had a sixth-place finish in a dual meet at Lehigh University.

Heinemann spent the summer of 2020 as a Hauber Research Fellow at Loyola, researching convolutional neural networks with Dr. David Hoe. She assisted with the surveying literature while performing mathematical analysis and computer simulation.

She has also worked as a peer tutor at Loyola for classes in linear circuit analysis, calculus and French. Heinemann has been a member of the Loyola Leadership Academy, and she is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the National Jesuit Honor Society.
