BALTIMORE –
Olivia Tracey and
Anna Rico won at No. 2 doubles Thursday, but UNC Wilmington captured the doubles point with victories in the other matches and went on to a 7-0 decision over Loyola University Maryland at the McClure Tennis Center.
Tracey and Rico topped Sarah Horn and Zoe Huffman, 6-4, for their fourth-straight victory as they improved to 4-1 this season.
The Seahawks took the other doubles matches for the early lead as Maddy Muller-Hughes and Anna Parker-Shumate beat
Kateri Martin and
Abigail Thornton, 6-2, at No. 2, and Anna Daniels and Lauren Robbins were 6-3 victors over
Genevieve Wurtz and
Brooke Santoriello at No. 3.
Martin battled Charlotte Madson at No. 1 singles but fell, 7-5, 7-5, and Celeste Matute beat Thornton, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2.
Rachel Marthinsen was a 6-2, 7-5 winner over Tracey at No. 3 singles, and Brinley Bell beat Rico, 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4. Lea Dubois-Rebiere topped
Abby Decker, 6-1, 7-6 (3) at No. 5, and Sarah Merrill got past
Julia Thompson, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.
