KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. –
Evan Brown and
Carlo Pizzano both shot even-par 71 on Tuesday to lead the Loyola University Maryland golf team during the second round of the NCAA Regional at the Golf Club of Tennessee.
Brown's 71 keeps him in a tie for third place at 4-under through 36 holes, one shot back of co-leaders Youssef Guezzale of San Diego State and Reid Davenport of Vanderbilt.
Pizzano's even-par round has him in a tie for 60
th overall.
Brandon Berry shot 1-over 72 on Tuesday and is 4-over for the tournament and tied for 47
th.
As a team, Loyola remains 11
th at 21-over through 36 holes, two shots back of Texas-San Antonio for 10
th.
The Greyhounds started the second round from the back nine, and Brown birdied two of the first five holes before a double bogey on the par-3 16
th hole brought him level for the day. He came back to eagle the 580-yard, par-5 17
th hole – his second eagle of the tournament – to drop to 2-under and take the tournament lead at the turn.
He had three bogeys and a birdie mixed with five pars on the course's front nine and finished his day even.
Trent Geritz entered the lineup and carded a 7-over 78 on Tuesday, while
Brett Inserra shot 10-over and is tied for 68
th.
The Greyhounds will start the third and final round on Wednesday at 8:55 a.m. (CDT).
