Volleyball Named AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Loyola University Maryland volleyball team was honored Thursday for an outstanding year in the classroom when it received the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Honor Roll, presented by the U.S. Marine Corps.
 
The Greyhounds completed the 2020-2021 Academic Year with a cumulative 3.680 grade-point average, pulling in a 3.703 in the fall semester and a 3.704 in the spring.
 
A record 243 NCAA Division I teams were recognized with the Team Academic Award, but Loyola received the higher Team Academic Honor Roll recognition, an honor that is given to the top 20-percent of teams in the division.
 
Loyola received the higher of the two awards for the second year in a row and the Team Academic Award for the third-straight season.
 
The Greyhounds were the only Patriot League team recognized with on the Team Academic Honor Roll.
 
Earlier in the week, Loyola volleyball had all 16 of its players named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. It led the conference in honorees and was the only with all of its players recognized.
