The Greyhounds pushed to extend the third set, leading 23-20 after two-straight
Abby Hamilton kills, but the Seawolves scored the next three to tie off a Loyola hitting miscue.
A bad set and a Loyola attack error then closed out the set and the match in favor of Stony Brook.
Hamilton led Loyola with nine kills, and
Cat Vaccaro had seven.
Maya Dudockin hit .714 for Loyola with five kills on seven swings while posting a pair of blocks.
Kacy Sekunda had 16 assists,
Megan Bukala added two service aces and
Katie Forsythe totaled 14 digs to lead the team in those areas.
Loyola will close the tournament on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. when it faces Morgan State University.
