BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland's men's and women's swimming and diving teams combined to win 28 of 32 events on Saturday as the Greyhounds defeated Mount St. Mary's University in their final tune-up before the Patriot League Championships next month.
 
Loyola's women won, 204-55, while the men were 196.5-56.5 winners over the Mountaineers.
 
Lily Mead won three individual events for the women, while Alison Prushinski, Jessica Stolfi both won two. Jimmy Hayburn, Jack Still and Max Verheyen all won two events on the men's side for the Greyhounds.
 
The Greyhounds had the only entrants in both the men's and women's 1,000-yard freestyles and took early leads after the events. Gianna Moscetti won the women's race in 10:57.12, and she was followed by Kylie Preihs (11:25.96) and McClain Hermes (13:12.61).
 
Alex Plavoukos took first in the men's version of the race in 9:49.40, while Jonah Goodman (2^nd, 9:59.12), Matthew Gray (3^rd, 10:04.63) and Patrick Boyle (4^th, 10:08.02) followed.
 
Alana Andrees led a quartet of Loyola women who were first through fourth in the 200-yard freestyle, winning in 2:00.89. Carolina Suarez was second in 2:01.33, while Kaitlyn Gallaghan and Elizabeth Fetherston were third and fourth in 2:01.55 and 2:02.31, respectively.
 
Zach Reid finished first in the men's 200 freestyle, winning in 1:44.30, and Dylan Champagne was second (1:46.04) and Matt Voight fourth (1:46.86).
 
Prushinski won a 50-yard version of the backstroke, swimming 27.40 to edge teammates Maggie Manchester (27.56) and Izzy Barnette (28.04). Stella Meyerhoeffer was fifth in 28.28.
 
Conor Rutigliano touched the wall first in the men's 50-yard backstroke with a time of 23.22, followed by Patrick Hayburn (23.39), Jonathan Brooks (23.78) and Henry Mueller (24.02) in the next three spots.
 
Mead took the first of her three wins in the women's 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 29.27, leading a Loyola sweep of the top five. Abby Andrews was second in 30.50, followed by Elizabeth Walsh (30.67), Kaitlin Witkop (32.43) and Avery Stimmel (32.46).
 
Verheyen edged Mount St. Mary's Griffin Distler by a tenth of a second, winning the 50-yard breaststroke in 25.92. Joey Cholish was third (26.59) and Michael Gozdan fourth (26.81).
 
Laura Latham won the 100-yard buttefly for the women in 58.91, while Katherine Lew took second with a time of 1:00.12. Kaitlyn Callaghan finished fourth in 1:01.36, and Michelle Lebed was fifth in 1:01.72.
 
Sung Lee claimed first in the men's 100 buttefly, winning in 49.88, while Charles Fagbohun finished third (52.72). Dylan Maziarz was then fifth in 54.46.
 
Mount St. Mary's Valeria Villagran won the women's 50-yard freestyle by a half-second in front of Charley Tulio's second-place time of 24.90. Fay Moser finished third (25.00), and Emily Colyar was fourth (25.87). Remmi Shaw and Jen DeGroat tied for fifth in 25.97.
 
Jimmy Hayburn won the men's 50 freestyle in 21.28, a tenth of a second better than Rutigliano's time. Reid Hussey (3^rd, 21.63), Sean Keller (4^th, 22.28) and Jack Inman (5^th, 22.30) completed the top-five sweep for Loyola.
 
Jess Stolfi won both women's diving events, scoring 211.72 in the 3-meter event and 205.20 in the 1-meter. Jack Still was the winner in both men's events with 232.87 points in the 1-meter, 260.93 in the 3-meter.
 
Mya Sharkey took second in the women's 3-meter with 199.57 points, followed by Lily Bistline (180.67) and Anna Donato (179.69). Donato was then second in the 1-meter event with 202.20 points, just three back of Stolfi. Sharkey was third with 195.37, and Bistline fifth with 186.97. Tyler Zarzycki finished second in the men's 1-meter with 144.90 points.
 
Moser had a second-place finish in the women's 100-yard freestyle in 54.55, and Meyerhoeffer claimed third (55.28), while Michelle Lebed finished fifth (56.50).
 
Harry Hearn recorded a victory in the men's 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.62, followed by Joey Zellner (48.66), Brendon Kolar (49.94) and Sean Keller (50.35) in the top five.
 
Prushinski won her second backstroke event of the day, swimming 58.34 to touch the wall first in the 100. Manchester was third in 59.41, and Kyra Kowalewski finished fourth in 1:02.61
 
Tie Manuel led Loyola in the men's 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.69 to finish second, followed by Matt Voight in third (53.79).
 
Andrews won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.10, and Stimmel was second in 1:09.76. Wade claimed third in 1:01.86, and Moscetti was fourth in 1:12.82.
 
David Sears won the men's 100-yard breaststroke in 57.01, leading Loyola to the top 11 times. Brian Hess was second in 57.30, followed by Alexander Grahor (3^rd, 58.20), Gozdan (4^th, 58.57) and Cholish (5^th, 58.86).
 
Carolina Suarez won the women's 500-yard freestyle in 5:22.25, backed up by Fetherston (2^nd, 5:26.37), Preihs (3^rd, 5:44.58) and Hermes (4^th, 6:29.70). Goodman was a winner in the men's 500 freestyle (4:51.32), followed by Zach Eisenmann in second (4:55.95).
 
Mead won the 50-yard buttefly with a time of 25.33, while Barnette was third in 25.87. Walsh took fourth (26.18), and Latham was fifth (26.96).
 
Jimmy Hayburn finished first in the men's 50 butterfly, setting a school record in 22.10. Lee was second in 22.36, while Brooks (3^rd, 22.48), Rutigliano (4^th, 22.77) and Patrick Hayburn (5^th, 23.09) rounded out the top five.
 
Mead was a winner by more than second in the women's 100-yard individual medley, completing the race in 57.26. Walsh took second in 58.88, followed by Prushinski (1:02.01), Manchester (1:02.21) and Latham (1:02.41). Verheyen was first in the men's race as Loyola claimed the top seven spots. He won in 51.53, and was trailed by Lee (2^nd, 51.63), Patrick Hayburn (3^rd, 51.78), Mueller (4^th, 52.98) and Brooks (5^th, 53.12).
 
The meet closed with a mixed 200-yard freestyle relay that Loyola won in 1:33.69 with a team of Emily Colyar, Caleb Kelly, Plavoukos and Tulio setting a school record.
 
Loyola will take more than two weeks off to prepare for the conference meet. The Patriot League Championships start on Wednesday, February 16, in Annapolis, Maryland.
