WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Three Loyola University Maryland boats had second-place finishes on Saturday as the Greyhounds closed their fall schedule at the Frostbite Regatta on Mercer Lake.
Both the men's and women's varsity eight boats took second, while the top men's varsity four was also runner-up.
The women's eight –
Holly Hanscom,
Maura Budd, Evy Ryan,
Erin Megill,
Samantha Walsh,
Erin White, Grace Dwan, Grace Gola and coxswain
Delaney Gibbons – too second out of three entries with a time of 7:40.460.
Loyola's men's eight –Eoin McDonough, Aidan Towey, Joseph Arvelo,
Frederich Lightner, Max Greer, Chris Engelbert,
Devon Sangiorgio, Sam Hoerning and coxswain Joseph Sigmund – was runner-up in a race of four, crossing the line in 6:17.230.
The men's 'A' varsity four –
Guillermo Diaz,
Joshua Rafferty, Julius Boucke, Ben Sala and coxswain Kat An – took second out of four in their heat with a time of 7:15.200. The Greyhounds' 'B' varsity four of Sangiorgio,
David Schechter, Matteo Mood,
Jack Quinones and coxswain
Ivy Gallagher finished fourth of five in its race in 7:29.220.
Loyola's women's varsity four –
Emma McCann,
Anna Kelley, Katherine Convery,
Grace Aberle and coxswain Meilyn Frank – finished third of six in 8:04.320.
Course conditions forced the cancelation of the men's and women's freshman/novice eights and the women's pairs, races in which the Greyhounds had entries.
