FAIRFAX STATION, Va. – The Loyola University Maryland men's and women's' rowing teams won five races on Sunday as the Greyhounds closed their first weekend of competition this spring at the 2022 Occoquan Sprints.
The Greyhounds women won the varsity four – and a second boat was second in that race – the varsity eight and the second varsity eight. On the men's side, Loyola won the second varsity eight and the freshman/novice four.
Loyola's women scored a win in the varsity eight as

Olivia Welch, Danielle Niedermeyer and coxswain Gabrielle Macneil rowed to a time of 9:20.82 for the win, besting George Mason by almost second ticks of the clock.

Keaton Teeft and coxswain Joseph Sigmund beat Carnegie Mellon with a time of 10:07.78.
