Katie Detwiler was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the League office today.

Detwiler, the Preseason Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, picked up her second weekly award of the season – and ninth of her career – after holding a pair of Tewaaraton Award Watch List honorees to one goal apiece in a 2-0 week for the ninth-ranked Greyhounds.

In a midweek win at Penn, Detwiler caused three turnovers while holding Taylyn Stadler to one goal on three shots. She then posted two more caused turnovers and had a career-high eight draw controls in a win over the Nittany Lions on Saturday, all while holding Kristin O'Neill to just one goal. For the week, she Detwiler contributed five caused turnovers and eight draw controls.

Loyola will return to action on Wednesday when it travels to Georgetown for a 7 p.m. contest.
