WILLIAMSBURG, Va. –
Abby Potticary came across the finish line in first for the second meet in a row, posting a win in the 5,000 meters at the Colonial Relays Friday as Loyola University Maryland track and field ran at the meet hosted by College of William & Mary.
Potticary led from the beginning of the race and clocked a collegiate-best time of 17:41.64 to win less than a week after she took the top spot in the 3,000 meters at the Navy Spring Invitational.
She was one of two Greyhounds to finish in the top seven of the race as
Kate Ragone finished seventh in 18:10.25.
Carly Spinnler had a top-10 in the 800 meters for the Greyhounds, finishing eighth in a near-personal-best time of 2:17.71.
Ajia Morrison was 36
th in 2:26.80.
Maeve Lowther and
Sammie Spargo ran their first collegiate 3,000-meter steeplechases, finishing 15
th in 11:41.70 and 28
th in 12:41.34.
Grayce Heinemann was 22
nd overall in the 1,500 meters, with a time of 4:49.75, and
Lily Angluin finished 44
th in 5:01.18.
Olivia Malley was 38
th in the 400 meters with a time of 60.48.
Eve Schoenberg had the top Loyola finish in the 400-meter hurdles, running 70.40 to take 37
th, and
Stephanie Tracy was the top finisher in the 200 meters, running 26.91 for 42
nd.
Ava Dunn led the Greyhounds in the 100 meters with a time of 13.16 seconds for 54
th place.
Nathan Galloway led a group of Loyola men's cross country runners in the 5,000 meters, taking 13
th in 15:22.07. Evan Skurat (15:38.51), Tyler Vega (15:39.83) and Evan Alander (15:42.27) were 29
th, 30
th and 32
nd in the event.
