NORMAN, Okla. – Five members of the 2021-2022 Loyola University Maryland golf team were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) this week, highlighting their work on the course and in the classroom.

Mike Crowley,
Brett Inserra,
Matt Malits and
Carlo Pizzano earned the recognition for the Greyhounds.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically, participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
The five helped Loyola win the Patriot League Championship in May and advance to the NCAA Regional for the 11
th time in school history. They were also the Greyhounds top five players statistically in stroke average during the season with Berry's 72.28 leading the way.
Pizzano, who tied for first at the Patriot League Championships finished at 74.09 with Crowley right behind at 74.50. Inserra capped his Loyola career by averaging 74.97. Malits, the 2022 Patriot League Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, averaged 75.31.
