Adam Poitras was named the Most Valuable Player of the Minto Cup after leading his Whitby Warriors to the Canadian National Championship of junior box lacrosse.
The honor was the second major award this month for the Loyola midfielder who was also named Most Valuable Player of the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League Junior 'A' Finals, which Whitby won to advance to the Minto Cup.
He also was a member of the sliver-medal winning Canadian side at the 2022 Men's U-21 World Lacrosse Championships in Limerick, Ireland, this month.
Poitras tied for tournament-high honors with 14 goals, and he added 15 assists for 29 points in six games played. His 4.83 points per game tied for tournament-high status.
In the series against the Edmonton Miners to determine the Cup champion, Poitras had four goals and eight assists. He had a game-best three assists in the deciding game, a 6-5 Whitby win on Tuesday night.
The native of Whitby, Ontario, is entering his fourth year at Loyola and was third on the Greyhounds last season with 38 points, scoring 29 goals and assisting on nine out of the midfield.
