WHITBY, Ontario – Loyola University Maryland senior-to-be 
Adam Poitras was named the Most Valuable Player of the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJLL) Junior 'A' Tournament after leading his Whitby Warriors to the 2022 title.
 
Poitras, who wore the captain's 'C' for the Warriors, had a goal and an assist on Wednesday night as Whitby held off the Toronto Beaches, 11-9, in the second game of the best-of-three box lacrosse championship series. He finished the 10-game tournament with 54 points, scoring 23 goals and assisting on 31 for Warriors who won their first Iroquois Cup since 2013.
 
The Whitby native was third on the Greyhounds last season with 38 points, scoring 29 goals and assisting on nine out of the midfield.
 
Poitras and the Warriors will play in the Minto Cup, the Canadian National Junior 'A' Box Lacrosse Championship in Brampton, Ontario, August 22-29.

Josh Fairey, will also compete in the Minto Cup with the Beaches.
