BALTIMORE –
Matt Cardano and
Ryan Boland teamed to go undefeated this weekend as the Greyhounds' men's tennis team opened its 2022-2023 season with the Loyola Invitational.
Cardano and Boland opened the weekend with a win over a duo from Harford Community College before taking down a team from Mount St. Mary's University. They then beat another Harford side in the semifinals before edging teammates
Harry Zeiders and
Oliver Davey in the title match.
Zeiders and Davey took second by advancing with wins over a Harford team in the first round and a Goucher College side in the second. They also beat a Harfrod team in the semifinals.
Trevor Girandola and
Bennett LaLonde finished seventh after beating a Goucher team in their final match on Sunday. The Greyhounds' team came out victorious over Goucher in the first round before losing to Harford in the second.
George Bulger and
Nick Haggar advanced to the consolation final, beating teammates
Gilberto Rivera-Gordillo,
Jorge Quintana and
Nick Lawliss in the consolation quarterfinals and a Harford team in the semifinals.
Dylan Koziol and
Gustavo Rotundo were 13
th in the invitational with a win over a Goucher team in their last match. Rivera-Gordillo, Quintana and Lawliss were 15
th overall.
